Privacy Tips

We recognise the inherent risks of personal information being made available via the internet and have provided the following tips to help ensure that you minimise these risks where possible.

  • Don't use your full name as a registered user name. e.g. Instead of using Mary_Smith, use Mary_S or Mary_S_1962.
  • Don't use the same password for AgedCarer as you do for other websites, such as online banking.
  • Don't share your password with others in any form.
  • Don't publish your personal email address in forums, blogs or any other area of the website. You may want to set up a separate webmail account with Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Hotmail to use in the event you do need to share an email address.
  • Don't reveal personal details such as your full name, age, address or phone number in public forums or groups.
  • Don't reveal the name of someone you are caring for. Where possible use general terms such as "My relative" or "My client".
  • Don't reveal specific medical details or records of yourself or someone you are caring for. There are very strict privacy laws about revealing this type of information.
  • Please alert us to the behaviour of other AgedCarer website members in forums or groups that you feel is inappropriate in any way.

If you have any concerns about your privacy at AgedCarer, please contact us.
