Emma Hamilton - Founder

Emma Hamilton is the Founder and Content Director of AgedCarer.com.au, a website that's been established to help Australians care for their ageing families by providing easy access to a wide range of aged care information, community support, products and services. AgedCarer.com.au is also the first website in Australia where carers and families can come together to form online social networks based around aged care topics and the needs of the older people they're caring for.

After initially working as an aged care assistant nurse in 1991, Emma undertook a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing at the University of Technology Sydney, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1994. She then spent the next decade working in residential aged care facilities in Sydney's Northern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs, eventually being promoted to the role of Nursing Unit Manager.

Always one to explore new approaches to aged care, Emma also completed a Diploma of Aromatherapy and worked with leading aged care provider Thompson Healthcare as a massage therapist following the birth of her first child in 2003. During this period she also completed a Diploma of Business from the University of New England with a view to eventually starting her own aged care venture.

Emma's passion for aged care led to the initial founding of AgedCarer.com.au in 2007 when she saw a major need for the growing numbers of Australians entering roles as carers to understand and navigate the complexities of aged care information and services. She is excited about the opportunities AgedCarer.com.au provides to both empower communities and families through social networking features, as well as helping to modernise the image of aged care for an increasingly internet-aware audience.

Emma is now raising her young family on the South Coast of NSW and works with a range of aged care experts and contributors from around Australia to produce AgedCarer.com.au.
