Why don't they toilet residents in nursing homes?

I'm sure my mum is not being toileted and left in an incontinence pad all day. I ask the nurses to check her but they say she doesn't go to the toilet and don't worry she has a pad on. She only has a few incontinence pads for the entire day and night. I've bought extras but they're not being used by the nurses. I'm worried she will get a urinary tract infection.

Hi Im a nurse in a nursing home and your mother would have toileting times, as we do continence charts when they first come in, we create toileting times because when you are working 2 to 15 during the day and 1 to 15 at night it is quite difficult to get to everyone at the same time, I believe your mother is being toileted probraly not as often as you would like her to be, but it is hard to do all are residents as once. I dont mean to belittle your situation and totally understand how you feel, as I have had a family member in a nursing home, but your mum will be getting the best care.

I'm an aged care nurse and by the time we shower all the residents in the morning its lunch time then we toilet them after lunch. Many residents are too frail to toilet and it's actually uncomfortable to move them onto a toilet and when you do they don't use it. Pads can take up a lot of urine even when they appear wet.
