How do I access care if my parent is a veteran?

A number of programs exist to help veterans, war widows and widowers remain independent in the home. These programs can assist with home nursing care, home modification, transport and meal services.

These programs are referred to as:

  • Veterans' Home Care
  • Respite care
  • HomeFront home assessments 
  • Rehabilitation Appliances Program

Before accessing Veterans' Home Care services a person must be assessed by the VHC agency. You can arrange this assessment by calling 1300 550 450.
