Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) - Lower North Shore
Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACAT) assist older people and their carers to find appropriate aged care services that best suit their needs when they can no longer care for themselves at home.
An ACAT assessment and approval is required before people can access residential care and government aged care programs such as Community Aged Care Packages (CACP) and Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH) Packages.
Mosman Carers' Group - Caring for Carers
The Mosman Carers Group is a local support group that meets weekly in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere every Wednesday morning from 10am to 12 noon in the Harnett Rooms at Mosman Council.
The support group is an open group for carers who are looking after people with dementia, chronic or mental illness, disability or general frailty.
Mosman council has also launched a Saturday respite service to support carers of the frail aged, people with dementia or younger peope with a disability.
