Drug trials for Alzheimer's

ABC Radio reported 3.8.2009....Human trials are about to start in Melbourne on an experimental drug called PBT1 which researchers will hope will one day prove to be a breakthrough in reversing the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. Professor Colin Masters of the University of Melbourne has spent the past 15 years refining the drug, and he says if it's successful it will be available to patients within five years. Fifty specially chosen patients with low level symptoms of the disease are to take part in a trial over the next couple of years.
